About Foothills Community Theatre
Foothills Community Theatre (FCT) is a volunteer-based, nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting performing arts and theatre education in McDowell County and the Foothills of North Carolina.
Founded in 1972 as part of the McDowell Arts Council Association, FCT became an independent nonprofit in 1999. Since then, we’ve continued to bring live theatre and arts education to our community.
Our Season
Each year, we produce four to five shows designed to entertain, inspire, and educate audiences of all ages.
Be sure to check this website or visit our Facebook page for the latest updates on show dates, auditions, and special events!
Annual Review Preview
Our Review Preview is held at the end of June each year — a celebration marking the close of one season and the start of another!
During this event, we announce the upcoming season’s shows, offer season tickets, and hold our annual awards ceremony to honor outstanding contributions.
Our most prestigious recognitions are the:
🏆 Sam Paul Combs Lifetime Achievement Award
🌟 Greg Dunn Rising Star Award
These honors celebrate individuals who embody the spirit and dedication that make FCT thrive.
